"Burnished by the moon, a horse dozes at fisherman Martin Dirrane's Oatquarter Cottage on Inishmore. Forebears of the islanders appeared in the 1934 documentary film Man of Aran. Aromas redolent of the curragh, the islands' traditional boat—leather, tar, wood, and the sea—have been distilled into a cologne called Man of Aran, another attempt to bottle Irishness—and make it pay."
